Rangers boss left ‘baffled’ by Dejan Stankovic actions at full time

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst was left “baffled” as Dejan Stankovic stormed down the tunnel before shaking the Dutchman’s hand after the game, as per Daily Record.

The Gers ran riot at Ibrox, beating Red Star Belgrade 3-0 in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.

Stankovic couldn’t hide his discontent on the final whistle with the Serbian side having three goals disallowed in the game.

Van Bronckhorst was seen shrugging his shoulders in disbelief as the former Lazio player snubbed him and headed down the tunnel.

Remain focussed

Wow. That is some very poor sportsmanship from the Red Star boss. He was understandably aggrieved by three of their goals being disallowed and Ryan Kent being awarded a penalty in the first half but that is no reason to ignore van Bronckhorst.

This seems like more of the relentless mind games the Serbian was playing prior to the Ibrox clash.

He has made this clash personal now between the two sides. It has that extra edge going into the second leg which will suit Red Star on what will be a hugely important night at the Marakana.

Rangers must do what they did in the first leg and simply focus on the football. They outclassed the Serbian side on the pitch which has left them with one foot in the quarter-final draw.

It will be difficult to block out the noise from what is an hugely historic stadium but there seems to be no stopping the Light Blues on their European escapade.

In other Rangers news, Mark Hateley is baffled by Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s decisions.
