Anton Ferdinand moved by how Gerrard tackled Rangers anti racism action
Anton Ferdinand has been left stunned by how Steven Gerrard supported Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara after he was racially abused last year.
The former Gers boss showed strong support to the Finland international after he suffered racist abuse from Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela during their Europa League clash 12 months ago.
He was given a ban of 10 games and he missed the entirety of the Euro 2020 campaign.

Ferdinand said, as quoted by the Daily Record: “I’ve never seen a manager protect a player when it comes to racism the way I’ve seen Steven Gerrard do.
“You’re talking about that generation, and you’ve got people like Steven Gerrard who’s managing now and producing that level of commitment and support on a topic that is hard to speak about, especially as a white man.”
No criminal charges
According to a report from The Glasgow Times, Kudela will not face any criminal prosecution for racially abusing the Gers midfielder.
Kamara was accused by the Czech club of assaulting Kudela in the tunnel after the match, but The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) have suggested that no action will be taken on either player.
Racism is a huge issue in world football at the moment, and it needs to be tackled strongly.

The players, worldwide, take knees before matches, while there have been several campaigns to kick racism out of the beautiful game.
It is the responsibility of the club to teach their players how to behave properly, and that skin colour is something that should not be mocked.
It is easier said than done to eradicate this problem, as biases remain based on skin colour, caste, creed almost in every country around the world, but football clubs have to unite to put an end to it, no matter how long it takes.
In other Rangers news, van Bronckhorst has confirmed that one of his star signings will be on the bench for tomorrow’s Europa League tie against Red Star Belgrade.
