‘Waste of time’ – Kris Commons slams Rangers for Aaron Ramsey signing
Kris Commons has held back no punches in his brutal assessment of Rangers and midfielder Aaron Ramsey amid game time concerns.
The Welshman has only played 94 minutes of football across four games since joining the Bears in January.
Commons identified the Celtic clash as a lifeline for Ramsey’s Gers career that could be a “waste of time” if he doesn’t start playing more.

Speaking in his Daily Mail column, he said: “We’re now well into March and Rangers fans are fully entitled to ask what the thinking behind the signing of Aaron Ramsey was all about.
“He was an unused substitute against Aberdeen on Saturday. If a player of that talent is able to take his place on the bench, why wasn’t he involved? I always felt this was a marquee signing to give Rangers fans a pick-me-up. No matter his talent, I never thought Ramsey was a player who was going to take the Ibrox side to the next level.
“If he starts against Celtic at the start of next month, that might be money well spent. But if he remains a bit-part player in that clash, his loan spell will just go down as pretty much a waste of time. It’s also not just as simple as Ramsey getting up to speed. If Rangers keep winning, it becomes harder for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to change things.”
Half expected
Everyone knew the risk Rangers were taking when they signed the former Arsenal midfielder in January.

He is an expectational talent, one of the best players in the world on his day but unfortunately, his day doesn’t come often enough.
He has been plagued with injuries throughout his career which hasn’t done him any favours, but the Bears fans were willing to ignore that due to his undeniable quality.
There was some hope that he might be able to put a run of games together and come good again in Glasgow but that now seems very unlikely.
Juventus knew the 31-year-old was all but done, which is why they were so desperate to offload him and even paid the majority of his wages for him to come to Scotland.
That is the silver lining in all of this. Rangers have barely taken a risk with Ramsey and if things don’t work out, they won’t have suffered a huge financial hit.
There is still some time left for him to change his fortune and hopefully the experienced midfielder can do so.
In other Rangers news, the Bears have been sent a Red Star Belgrade warning by Graeme Souness.
