Kenny Miller: Rangers finishing has cost them in recent weeks in the Scottish Premiership

Kenny Miller has taken aim at Rangers finishing in recent weeks in their Scottish Premiership games as we enter the business stage of the season.

The Bears have picked up big wins over St Johnstone and Aberdeen in the past week, but they could and should have been so much more comfortable.

Draws against Dundee United, Ross County and Motherwell in the past couple of months have seen Celtic take a three-point gap at the top of the table.

Speaking live on BBC Sportscene last night (06 March), Miller singled out the big issue facing the Bears in the final third.

“It has cost them,” he said.

“Even agast Motherwell at home when you’re 2-0 up, obviously there’s something in it. When you’re on top and creating chances, you need to try and put the game to bed.

“Take any hope away from the opposition, these are quite tough chances, but again, can you be a little bit more – take an extra touch? Can you maybe bring it down?”

Painful.

Having 60 shots in our past three games and only getting three on target sums it up perfectly, it simply isn’t good enough.

There are many different reasons for that, with some of the chances falling to who we wouldn’t want, but that is no excuse.

If you want to win the Scottish Premiership, you have to put your chances away in scrappy games such as the one at Dundee United a couple of weeks ago.

We have been as efficient as ever on the big stage in the Europa League, especially in Germany against Borussia Dortmund, but that has yet to find its way into the league.

There weren’t many better than Miller at finding the back of the net at Ibrox, and hopefully, that can turn around with the next Celtic meeting quickly approaching.
