GvB must sell Rangers left-back Borna Barisic in summer
Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst must look to sell left-back Borna Barisic in the summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old has a contract at the club till 2024, but the Gers must look to cash in on him and bring a new replacement in.
Barisic has been a shadow of the player that he was under Steven Gerrard last season, and it’s time to make plans without him.

The Croatian defender did a decent job in the Gers’ 1-0 win over Aberdeen, but one could see he is clearly struggling with confidence.
He looks good when he is in acres of space, but when players are closing him down, he takes the safest route by passing the ball backwards.
Unlike in previous seasons, where Barisic would have tried to get past the marker and provide a cross into the box, this has become a rarity.
He was shambolic in the 3-0 defeat against Celtic, where Michael Stewart blasted him for his display, branding it as “criminal”.
The experienced defender was needed against Borussia Dortmund and he was very poor again. He is clearly struggling for form.

With Leon Bolagun and Filip Helander back, it’s time for Van Bronckhorst to use Calvin Bassey at left-back.
Ryan Kent looked much better with Bassey supporting him, and that should be the blueprint for the Dutchman going forward.
The problem with Barisic is that he probably is scared to put a wrong foot in a game. It’s just not working for him.
