Rangers v Aberdeen player ratings: Alfredo Morelos disappoints

Rangers raced to a narrow 1-0 victory against Aberdeen in the SPFL, courtesy of a Kemar Roofe goal in the second half on Saturday.

Roofe came off the bench for Alfredo Morelos to turn things around for the hosts and give them important three points.

They’re now level-pegging with Celtic and the title race continues to heat up in the business end of the season.

Kemar Roofe will be one of plenty to depart Ibrox this summer

Here’s how Ibrox News rated the Gers players on the afternoon:

Allan McGregor 7

An impressive game from the Gers shot stopped who kept the opposition at bay as he marshalled his defence perfectly.

Connor Goldson 6

Looked unruffled at the heart of the Rangers defence. Played some important passes and made crunch challenges when needed.

Calvin Bassey 6

Much like Goldson, Bassey had a decent outing and had every reason to be pleased with his performances.

Borna Barisic 8

The pick of the Gers players on the day. The left-back was impressive at winning duels all over the pitch and proved to be a constant thorn whenever ventured forward.

Ryan Jack 7

A solid game from Jack who’s looked brilliant since his return from injury. Had to find faults with what he did today (March 5).

Glen Kamara 7

Much like Jack, Kamara cruised through the game without really breaking a sweat. He’s had better games but this was certainly a performance worthy of a spot in the playing eleven.

Fashion Sakala 5

Had a few acrobatic moments in the first half but didn’t pose a potent threat to the Aberdeen defence.

Joe Aribo 6

Looked slightly off the pace on a few occasions in the first half. Did not play the final pass a number of times which was baffling, given how good he usually is.

Ryan Kent 7

A decent outing from the Englishman whose stock is continually on the rise. Was unlucky not to have scored.

rangers

Alfredo Morelos 3

A shocking performance from the Colombian who has been in form lately. His passing was off the mark and so were his attempts to take the ball beyond the opponents. He was also beaten to most second balls and he clearly will not be pleased with how he fared.

Substitutes

Leon Balogun 5

Scott Arfield 5

John Lundstram 6

Kemar Roofe 7

In other Rangers news, the club may sign a Dutch international to replace Allan McGregor and the keeper’s contract also expires in the summer.
