Joe Aribo calls for Rangers teammates to ‘step up’ in title race
Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has called for the “big players” within the Ibrox dressing room to “step up” as the title race intensifies.
The Nigerian international was also very honest in assessing his own poor form since returning after AFCON.
He emphasised the importance of working hard every single day in order to turn his form around.

Aribo told The Herald: “For me personally, I wanted to get more numbers in terms of goals and assists. I’ve not been at my best compared to how I was before I left for the internationals.
“In football, you have these dips in form in your season but hopefully I can move past that and, come [kick-off], see a strong performance and move forward from that.
“I just need to work my hardest to get back into form and that’s what I’m doing. Every single day I want to be my best when I’m on the pitch so that’s what I’m hoping to do.”
He added: “It’s nice to have [a title race] because it is a moment for the big players to step up. That’s what we need. We need big characters in the dressing room.
“In the next games coming up, we hope that we’ll be there and we’ll get three points. That’s what we want from every single match that we play in.”

Honest
Thank god he was honest with himself amid telling other players in the gers dressing room to step up.
He is correct in what he is saying, it is time for the senior members of the Bears squad to stand up and make the difference as they approach crunch time in the title race but Aribo is one of those players.
It is good the 25-year-old has been honest to himself when reflecting because he hasn’t been the same player since returning to Glasgow after AFCON.
It could be mental or physical fatigue as the Bears come towards the end of a very long, hard season made worse with a huge international tournament right in the middle, but the Nigerian must give his all during this last push.
Both Celtic and Rangers are going to fight right down to the wire for the title so every player needs to ensure they are up for it.
They need three points in every single game from now until the end of the season.
