Heart and Hand hit back at Steven Gerrard reports, Rangers deny Friday story

Heart and Hand have hit back at reports that Steven Gerrard made his decision to leave Rangers as a move for Hibernian forward Kevin Nisbet was turned away.

The Scottish Daily Express reported earlier on Friday (04 March) that Gerrard had made his mind up after failing in the transfer window.

The official club partner, Heart and Hand, have hit back at that and labelled the claims as “clickbait” hours after it was published.

Writing on their official Twitter account, David Edgar shared the official and emphatic response of the club too.

“So Gerrard left due to not signing Nisbet and after the thousands of words on his transfer targets and his departure, this is coincidentally just coming to light today,” he wrote.

“We may be angry but we don’t button up the back. Obvious clickbait is obvious.

“Rangers say that the story is ‘totally inaccurate and without foundation’ and that Kevin Nisbet was never a target of Steven Gerrard.”

No chance.

You have got to be kidding us.

How do stories like this keep coming out? And more importantly, what are these publications gaining from throwing them out there.

So, you’re telling us that Gerrard threw everything away because he didn’t get to sign a Hibernian striker who has tasted little to no success or consistency throughout his career.

It’s not even believable in the slightest, and thankfully, the club has come out and put the rumours to bed instantly, just in case anyone believed them.

This story has come out today, months after Gerrard actually left and now Giovanni van Bronckhorst is in charge and moving forward.

There is no need to entertain this any further, with the Heart and Hand as well as the club dealing with the story perfectly already.
