Craig Moore defends Rangers trip to Australia to take on Celtic

Craig Moore has claimed that Rangers fans will feel as though they are in the shadows of Celtic ahead of the trip to Australia.

The BBC pundit insisted that the Bears fans have been getting their “knickers in a twist” after the news was confirmed.

Rangers will take on Celtic as well as two others in the Sydney Cup in November later this year, something that hasn’t gone down well.

Speaking on Go Radio, as shared by the Daily Record, Moore insisted that it could be a good decision in the end.

“I can understand a little bit some of the supporters getting their knickers in a twist,” he said.

“Ange in terms of the Australian manager, part of Celtic, coming back to Australia. I think the Rangers supporters will feel as if they’re like a bolt-on or in the shadows of this particular deal.

“There’s a lot of people in Australia, just the opportunity to see these teams. It’s big business.”

Money.

It is clear that this is all about the finances.

There is no chance that anyone on the board could have thought that this would have been supported around Ibrox.

If there was one fan on the board deliberating this decision, it would have been brought to a halt immediately – just look at the reaction at each game since.

All of the promotional videos and social media posts so far have all been about Celtic and Ange Postecoglou.

That is simply embarrassing at this moment in time, and it will take a huge win over our rivals in Australia to turn that around.

If we go all the way there just to lose, there will be even more serious questions that need to be answered by the likes of Ross Wilson.
