Alfredo Morelos wows Shelley Kerr and Michael Stewart for role in Rangers goal v St Johnstone
BBC Sportscene pundits Shelley Kerr and Michael Stewart were stunned by Alfredo Morelos for his play in creating the only Rangers goal at St Johnstone.
Glen Kamara scored in the opening minutes to secure a nervy 1-0 in the Scottish Premiership, as the Light Blues’ underwhelming league form continued.
But the goal would not have been possible without the Colombian striker, who disrupted the Saints back-line’s positioning before providing a wonderful assist with his touch to the Finnish scorer.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene on Wednesday (2 March) Kerr said: “It’s actually a brilliant piece of play from Alfredo Morelos. That is an absolutely brilliant touch.
“It’s a really composed finish as well, but you see the movement from Morelos, [defender Liam Gordon] gets dragged in there into that midfield area, and that allows Glen Kamara to run in behind.
“It’s a brilliant piece of play from Morelos.”
Stewart concurred, adding: “It’s a very good goal from Rangers’ perspective as Shelley’s pointed out, you see that quick movement from Morelos that causes St Johnstone problems.
“It was a wonderful touch from Morelos that sliced them open, and a good composed finish from Kamara.”

Gers have been inconsistent since the turn of the year, performing excellently in Europe while struggling too often domestically.
Outside of the two extremes of being hammered by Celtic and then overpowering Hearts and Hibs in consecutive games, there have been four draws and two laboured 1-0 wins.
Yet one man has been close to his best virtually throughout, and that is Morelos.

If he hadn’t been called up for a frustrating international duty where he saw no action perhaps his side would still be top of the SPFL.
Although Stewart was moved to point the finger at Gordon, he could not help but hail the visiting front man, so it must have been good play.
Morelos was unlucky to also hit the post on a relatively frustrating night for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his side.
Too much of the team is hit and miss currently, with the majority appearing to only get close to their best if Morelos, Ryan Kent and James Tavernier are reaching theirs.
But of that key trio, it would not be unfair to put the goalscorer at the top of the list in terms of importance and consistency right now.
If the Light Blues are to have domestic or European success this season it is surely going to heavily rely on him.
In other Rangers news, the pitch was slammed last night as both teams struggled.
