Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst calls for more from players
Giovanni van Bronckhorst came to the defence of his Rangers players but has called for more in a “ruthless” rant.
The Gers were controversially held to a 2-2 draw by Motherwell at Ibrox yesterday (February 27).
Van Bronckhorst’s side now remain three points adrift in second place with rivals Celtic failing to capitalise on the result with a 0-0 draw against Hibernian.

“We created 30 chances today,” van Bronckhorst told The Scotsman.
“I know it has been hard weeks but we were playing well and creating chances.”
He added: “The mentality (of the players) is good. Sometimes these situations happen. We have to be more ruthless defensively, that is for sure, and we have to be more clinical in front of goal.
“If you look back at the run after the winter break, getting four draws isn’t good enough and it has to be better, especially with the standards we want to have with this club.
“Of course, we can do things better but I think the mentality of the players is what is needed to be successful. But obviously, we cannot continue to dominate games and just get one point.”

Let off
Thank god Celtic didn’t punish the Light Blues for their shocking result.
It is becoming an increasingly worrying thing, Rangers’ inability to see out games. Far too many times have they taken the lead and allowed teams to peg them back this season which isn’t the sign on champions.
It was another day where the refereeing decisions will take most of the headlines with van Bronckhorst claiming the Gers would have won if VAR would have been used but it simply needs to be better from the players.
Their league form has not been good enough since the winter break and if it doesn’t change quickly, the title could be gone.
The Europa League run is brilliant, and long may it continue but it does seem to be affecting the Light Blues league form.
Whether it is a psychological or physical hindrance is unknown but they have to find a way to deal with the workload of both competitions.
