Journalist: Rangers league form in 2022 is ‘sackable’ for Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers are in “sackable” form in the Scottish Premiership in 2022, according to Mark McDougall.
Writing via his personal Twitter account in an instant reaction to the 2-2 draw with Motherwell at Ibrox on Sunday [27 February], the Football Scotland journalist reported that the Light Blues have won three out of their eight league games since the turn of the year.
Van Bronckhorst’s men let slip of a two-goal lead at home against Motherwell, failing to capitalise on Celtic’s failure to beat Hibernian earlier in the day.

And after that game, McDougall has suggested that he thinks van Bronckhorst’s form at Ibrox is a sackable offence for a Rangers manager.
“Rangers have played eight league games in 2022 and won three of them. That’s sackable form at any club in the top six let alone Rangers,” he said.
Sackable? Get out
Van Bronckhorst has overseen a dramatic drop in form in the Scottish Premiership since the winter break.
We’ve won just two of our last six Premiership fixtures and Celtic are now four points clear.
In that run, we were hammered by them in the Old Firm derby at Parkhead and also been held to humiliating draws.
But what’s stopping van Bronckhorst from being sacked?
Well, things weren’t exactly amazing before he took over from Steven Gerrard, who’s also overseen a slump compared to what he’d achieved last season.
The Dutchman is also still a fairly new manager at Ibrox having only joined to replace Gerrard in November.
Rangers are also in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and, most notably, in the last-16 of the Europa League after a stunning two-legged victory over Borussia Dortmund within the last couple of weeks.
Our league form isn’t sackable form, that’s just social media bombast from a journalist seemingly trying to get some interaction.
It’s worrying, yes. But we still have faith in being able to turn this around with both of the Old Firm teams dropping points lately.
In other Rangers news, one player was “excellent” against Motherwell, according to this BBC Sportscene pundit.
