Chris Sutton left in hysterics as Ally McCoist rages at VAR incident for Rangers

Ally McCoist was left raging after VAR disallowed Rangers a third goal against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening.

Chris Sutton was left in hysterics as McCoist let fly over the technology in use at Ibrox in the Europa League after Alfredo Morelos was deemed to have fouled Emre Can.

It comes as Scottish teams are set to meet about bringing VAR into the domestic game, something McCoist doesn’t want.

Speaking live on BT Sports’ Scottish Football Extra last night (25 February), McCoist flew into a rage over the decision.

“I don’t want VAR coming in,” he said.

“We saw last night, we saw at Tannadice, we cannot get a decision with VAR, and we saw last night, we can’t get a decision with VAR, what is the point in having VAR?”

Rangers

Shocking.

Thankfully, this didn’t end up deciding the tie in any way.

It was a shocking decision that was forced upon the referee with dreadful angles of the so-called foul by Morelos.

The Colombian didn’t touch Can at all, and had actually planted his foot on the ground before the German kicked him.

If Morelos had gone down, it would likely have been a red card to Dortmund and them down to 10 for the rest of the game.

Instead, he carried on, as we would want him to and set up Ryan Kent for the easiest goal he would likely ever score, but it wasn’t to be.

If VAR comes in, we have to use it better, or there is no point in paying for it in the first place for all of these Scottish clubs.
