Celtic desperate for Rangers to get as far as they can in Europa League – BBC pundit Richard Foster
Richard Foster has insisted that Celtic will be desperate for Rangers to get as far as they can in the Europa League this season.
The BBC pundit was reacting after the Hoops crashed out of the Europa Conference League and the Bears smashed Borussia Dortmund 6-4 on aggregate.
Foster admitted that Celtic will now be concentrating on the Scottish Premiership and automatic qualification to the Champions League, with no European nights to look forward to this season.

Speaking to the BBC during their coverage of the game, Foster suggested how the other half of Glasgow will be feeling.
“Celtic will desperately want Rangers to progress in this competition,” he said.
“These nights take a lot out of players, both mentally and physically.”

No chance.
So, you’re telling us that Celtic would sacrifice nights such as the one at Ibrox all for the Champions League next season?
Their performance at Bodo/Glimt last night was embarrassing and wins such as ours against one of Germany’s best, will only drown the squad in confidence.
The Bears will believe they can beat anyone right now, whereas there will be uncertainty in the camp of our rivals.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be using these nights as motivation for his squad to kick on and finish the season unbeaten, and if they do that, the title could come along with it.
If Celtic don’t win the league, they are left with little to nothing apart from that one cup victory earlier in the season – that isn’t good enough.
We are confident that our squad will be ready for everything, and they will show that against Motherwell.
