Jim White and Simon Jordan react to Rangers draw v Red Star Belgrade in Europa League

Jim White interrupted the entire talkSPORT studio to share the news of Rangers drawing Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

The Bears will take on the Serbians with a chance to reach the quarter-finals of the competition for the second year running.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst masterminded a 6-4 aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund over the past week and will be very confident here.

Speaking live on talkSPORT this morning (25 February) White interrupted everyone to bring the news in the Europa League.

“Guys, let me just jump in,” he said. “They’re out of the hat first, Rangers will play Red Star Belgrade.”

Simon Jordan shared his instant reaction to the draw, and he appeared impressed with the chances of progression.

“That’s a good draw,” he said.

Hostile.

Wow, this is going to be a huge two-legged tie.

Red Star Belgrade have one of the most hostile grounds and support in the entire world, and it is bound to be a real test for anyone.

Rangers will be confident of beating anyone after getting through the tie against Dortmund, and that is one of the biggest results in Scottish football history, never mind just ours.

With Celtic embarrassing the country against Bodo/Glimt, it was up to the Bears to raise the flag high, and they certainly did that.

Belgrade were the one club that everyone would likely have taken before the draw was made, although another huge club would have been welcomed.

The financial reward of going far in the competition can’t be understated either, and we must keep kicking on.
