BBC pundit Richard Foster stunned by Rangers ace James Tavernier v Borussia Dortmund

Richard Foster was left stunned by Rangers ace James Tavernier in the Europa League against Borussia Dortmund this evening.

The BBC pundit showered the captain in praise after he smashed home the opening goal from the penalty spot at Ibrox.

Foster admitted that no goalkeeper would be stopping that, as he blasted it straight through the middle into the roof of the net.

Speaking to the BBC during their coverage of the game, Foster singled out the skipper for his sensational composure.

“Fabulous penalty,” he said.

“No goalkeeper is going to save that. There is far too much power in it. That has come at great time for Rangers.”

Easy.

Tavernier always makes these big pressure moments look easy, he did exactly the same in Germany last week.

That is why he is one of the most prolific right-backs of all time, not just in Scotland, but the entire world of football.

When the officials point to the spot in our games, you can always be confident going into it – with Tavernier getting through his sticky patch last year.

He was exposed numerous times defensively down the right, and that is the one area where things need to change in these types of games.

Going to a back five in the second half helped, but let’s concentrate on the positives and his unbelievable ability from the spot – long may it continue.

With his ability, Tav will be one of those who we will struggle to ever replace if it even possible to properly do that.
