Ally McCoist shares moving insight into impression Rangers result left on his son
Ally McCoist has provided an example of how the huge Rangers result against Dortmund will live long in the memory of young Light Blues fans.
Gers secured a 2-2 draw at Ibrox last night to see them through to the Europa League last 16, following the 4-2 win in Germany for what is being hailed as one of the greatest Scottish results ever.
And club hero McCoist has illustrated the effect that occasions such as last night have on the fans when he shared how his son reacted after attending in Glasgow.

Speaking live on talkSPORT this morning (Friday 25 February, 08.40am) McCoist said: “It was magical. My wee man came in after the game last night, it was his first big game.
“Ray [Parlour], you love it man. He looked at the ticket, he turned to me and he said ‘Dad, this is one game I will never forget’.”
Former Arsenal star Parlour agreed: “That’s what it’s all about.”
McCoist went on: “You remember things like that. I remember as a wee boy, going to watch some games you never ever forget.
“It was certainly a great night.”
Memories made
Whatever else happens this season, the fans and the players will always have the Dortmund nights.
That is why it was so important for the club to complete the job at Ibrox last night.
The pressure was far higher for the return leg thanks to the heroics in the Signal Iduna Park.

Had Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side subsequently been knocked out not only would it have robbed the fans of the memories of last night, but it would have coloured how they remembered the win last week.
Of course fans love to see their side win trophies but in every competition there can only ever be one winner.
So on the whole, experiences of nights like the one at Ibrox are what being a fan is all about for most people.
Gers fans around the world will remember where they were and who they watched the game with.
The players must take the impetus gained from last night into their title defence to truly make this a season to remember, but even if they fall short, knocking the German favourites out of Europe will last forever.
In other Rangers news, even Chris Sutton was impressed by the events at Ibrox.
