Police intervene as tension hits overdrive between Rangers and Borussia Dortmund fans – Jordan Campbell

Tensions have already hit overdrive at Ibrox ahead of Rangers taking on Borussia Dortmund this evening in the Europa League.

Jordan Campbell of The Athletic has shared that Police have had to intervene as Germans charged towards the home end.

Some Bears were said to have jumped from the Broomloan onto the tarmac to confront them, although nothing looked to have happened.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Campbell shared what happened in the away end ahead of kick-off.

“Trouble in the away corner at Ibrox,” he wrote.

“Looks like Dortmund fans jumped over the barricade but the police managed to halt them. Rangers fans from the Broomloan then jumped over onto the tarmac to confront them. Atmosphere has ramped up already.”

Kicking off.

Wow – this one looks as though it is going to be very tasty.

The Germans have packed out the away end and are bringing some of the famous atmosphere that was desperately missing from the Yellow Wall at the Signal Iduna Park last week.

The mighty Bears never back down though, and it looks as though the police had to quickly jump in to stop anything from kicking off here.

With kick-off only minutes away now, let’s hope for some of that fight from those in blue yet again as they look to seal a famous European victory against one of the favourites for the entire tournament.

Time to get stuck in on the pitch, the atmosphere is going to be sensational inside and around Ibrox – bring it on.
