Ibrox View: Rangers player ratings v Borussia Dortmund in Europa League showdown
Rangers sealed a historic European victory by seeing off Borussia Dortmund over two legs, winning 6-4 on aggregate this evening.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst named an unchanged side from the one in Germany last week, and it was the perfect start at Ibrox.
James Tavernier smashed home a penalty, although that lead was overturned before the half-time whistle, only to see the skipper step up with another of his own in the second period.

Here is how Ibrox News rated the squad below…
Alan McGregor – 6
There wasn’t much he could do about the goals, but he did make a handful of big saves at crucial times of this showdown.
James Tavernier – 8
Smashed home the penalty with ease in the opening minutes, but was often left exposed defensively with the likes of Julian Brandt causing big issues. That was all forgotten when he smashed home the second.
Connor Goldson – 4
Mistakes. Goldson was yet again a big problem at the back, with his weak attempt at a basic clearance handing Jude Bellingham the first goal that got his side back into it – poor.

Calvin Bassey – 9
Wow, is there anything this man can’t do? Starting in the middle of defence and moving to the left-hand side, he was sensational and got the all-important assist for the second – Man of the Match.
Borna Barisic – 6
Didn’t do too much wrong before being forced off at half-time after a clash of heads with Thomas Meunier.
Ryan Jack – 8
Brilliant yet again, winning everything in the middle of the park and always showing himself for that much-needed pass whenever called upon.

John Lundstram – 8
Lundstram is really starting to put the hard yards in now, and having Jack alongside him has been a masterclass by Van Bronckhorst. Putting in those fouls when needed is crucial in midfield, and he did just that.
Joe Aribo – 7
Aribo was quiet, and it said a lot that his biggest moments came when clearing the countless number of corners in the game at the front post, but as the game went on, he did show himself more and more.
Ryan Kent – 9
The main man yet again, the winger caused trouble all evening and won the penalty. If the Bears were going to do something, he was going to go through him.

Scott Arfield – 6
Wasted the biggest chance for a Rangers second in the first half, passed it straight to the keeper when he could have simply squared it to Ryan Kent.
Alfredo Morelos – 8
Couldn’t reap as much havoc as he did last week with Dortmund at first, but as the game went on, he simply embarrassed those around him. They may be twice as tall, but they’ll never beat him.
