Fashion Sakala likely set for Rangers role v Borussia Dortmund – Chris Jack

Chris Jack has insisted that Fashion Sakala may have a role to play for Rangers against Borussia Dortmund this evening.

The Zambian international has only started three games in 2022, but his pace and speed could be a real weapon off the bench against the Germans.

Jack has backed Scott Arfield to start once again with a two-goal lead to protect against Dortmund to get into the last 16 of the Europa League.

Speaking to GIVE ME SPORT, Jack shared what he expects from the team selection in the final third at Ibrox.

“I would go for Scott Arfield tonight,” he said. “If you think that Dortmund are going to have a lot of the ball, you need somebody that’s going to do the hard yards in terms of tracking and running back, and the marking.

“Scott Arfield has been an experienced European performer for Rangers for many years now, so I’d be surprised if he didn’t get the nod, but that doesn’t mean to say that Sakala wouldn’t have a part to play on the night.”

Weapon.

Sakala has only made three starts in 2022, so it appeared strange to question whether he would be in contention to start.

The Zambian will be a brilliant weapon to have in the final third of the game though, with the likes of Mats Hummels not exactly blessed with pace.

If we can get a goal early on and then need to rely on counterattacks to save the three-goal advantage, his speed is a necessity.

Morelos will obviously start centrally, and should he put a similar shift in as he did in Germany, he may only last 70 minutes, and no one can blame him for running out of gas in that scenario.
