Ally McCoist rages at VAR in Rangers clash v Borussia Dortmund

Ally McCoist was left outraged by VAR as Rangers saw a third goal disallowed against Borussia Dortmund this evening.

Alfredo Morelos set up Ryan Kent for a tap in, but he was judged to have fouled Emre Can despite the German kicking him.

McCoist labelled it a “scandalous” and “diabolical” decision as it was overturned despite not being given at the time.

Speaking live on BT Sport during the clash, McCoist was outraged that the decision was given against the Bears.

“Diabolical decision,

“Absolutely diabolical – he puts his foot in front of Morelos. There’s no contact from him. It’s a scandalous decision.”

Disgusting.

If this is what we can expect from VAR if it comes to Scotland, then this incident may have changed everyone’s thinking.

How this was ever called as a foul, we will never know, it was simply embarrassing from everyone involved.

Can clearly kicks the grounded foot of Morelos, who did nothing wrong before expertly setting up Kent to tap home.

The Spanish referee clearly didn’t look 100% sure and needed so many looks before giving the foul with a confused look.

Consistency is a huge worry in officiating these days, and it looks as though Scottish referees aren’t the only ones making shocking decisions.

It meant nothing in the end after a famous win was secured, but if it did end badly after that, there would have been carnage on and off the pitch at Ibrox this evening.
