Rangers must ‘dust themselves down’ after Dundee Utd draw ahead of EL clash

Midfielder maestro Joe Aribo rescued a point for Rangers away at Dundee United as they dropped more points on the road in the Scottish Premiership.

It was the Light Blues’ fourth away game without a win in the league despite going all the way to Germany and stuffing Borussia Dortmund 4-2 on Thursday in the Europa League.

The return leg of that game is next Thursday at Ibrox and Aribo knows that they need to get themselves ready for that while he admitted they weren’t good enough at Tannadice.

“Very frustrated. Disappointed because we’ve gone and had a lot of chances and played very well but the result has just not shown that. It is very upsetting,” Aribo said, as quoted by the Glasgow Times.

“We want to win every single game. Today is one that is disappointing but to take away a point instead of getting zero is better than nothing to be fair.

“We need to dust ourselves off and recover and look towards Thursday night because it is going to be a massive game and we need to be ready to go.

“We were pretty unlucky. There were a lot of good moments in the game today but we need to be a bit more ruthless in front of goal and take our chances that came along.”

Roar them home

Despite a poor day in front of goal at Tannadice, the travelling support was as loud as it always is and that is going to be needed on Thursday.

Forget what happened against Dundee United, all that matters now is that second leg of the Europa League playoff and the fans will be just as important as the players.

They might have a two-goal lead but Dortmund are a very dangerous side when they are at their best and if Erling Haaland is fit to play, he will cause major problems to the Gers defence.

Having said all that, if the raucous Ibrox atmosphere is at its peak, then the Bundesliga side will find it very difficult to overcome the cushion Rangers already have and they can begin to dream of the next round.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his men need your support on Thursday and together, we can complete one of the great nights in the club’s recent history.

In other Rangers news, the reason for Aaron Ramsey’s absence from the squad against Dundee United has been revealed along with an update ahead of Thursday’s big game.
