Aaron Ramsey expected back for Rangers v Borussia Dortmund
Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey has missed the Dundee United game later today (February 20) with a minor knock.
The Welshman was expected to start, but did not even make the matchday squad, which led to questions being raised about his availability v Borussia Dortmund.
However, Gers confirmed that he will be returning to the squad in the middle of the week and should be ready for the Europa League clash.
Via their official Twitter account, they wrote, “Jon McLaughlin misses today with a virus whilst Aaron Ramsey and Leon Balogun have minor knocks. All three players will return to the group during the week.”
Phew
Ramsey’s omission from the squad would have led to many raised eyebrows.
Knowing his track record, it would not have been implausible to think that he sustained another serious injury.
However, it only appears to be a knock and he should be fit for the Dortmund clash.

While Gers will have to defend their two-goal lead, games can turn on their head at any time and they could look for Ramsey’s inspiration from midfield.
The Wales international is known to make surging runs into the box and could terrify the Dortmund defenders on his day.
Ideally, he should’ve been rested for today’s fixture anyway and it’s a good thing that the club did not risk him.
Hopefully, they can secure the three points and put all the pressure back on Celtic.
In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
