Tom English destroys Rangers in administration rant

Tom English, BBC Scotland’s chief sportswriter, has taken to Twitter to slam Rangers concerning their administration in 2012.

The rant came after English appeared on Irish radio claiming that the Bears ‘wanted to have their cake and eat it’.

When asked the difference between the Gers’ financial situation and other clubs that have gone through similar misfortune, the journalist claimed it was the ‘brazen arrogance’ of Rangers’ owners that stood out.

He said: “I don’t care about the other clubs you’re talking about, but the brazen arrogance of your former owner stands out”

Delusional

What is this guy on about? The thick of his cake eating argument was that Rangers have the same supporters, stadium, beliefs and are the same club which must mean the administration should be held over their heads.

That is the worst take on the administration I have ever seen.

Nobody was happy with the owners at the time and they certainly aren’t happy with them all these years later. You are always going to get idiots that don’t like a club for whatever reason and find it hard to have an impartial view, much like English and his endless rants over the Light Blues.

What happened ten years ago was a reflection on the owners of the club and not the club itself and the vast majority seem to understand that.

You don’t see English holding Leeds United to the same account who went through the same misfortune in 2007.

It’s clearly a personal grudge against the best team in Scotland and one that needs to be ignored.

Rangers should focus on the success enjoyed since those dark days and what the future holds rather than dwell on their terrible previous owners.
