Rangers linked Halim Bakre signs for Shrewsbury Town
Halim Bakre, who was on trial at Rangers, has now signed for EFL club Shrewsbury Town, according to All Nigeria Soccer.
Apart from Gers, he also underwent trials at Chelsea, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough before signing a pre-scholarship deal at the League One club.
The ‘talented’ teenage sensation will now join forces with the English club professionally from July 1 2022.

Move on
In no universe are Shrewsbury a bigger club than Rangers or Chelsea.
The fact that Bakre trialled at both these clubs and they opted not to sign him, suggests that he wasn’t good enough.
No side on the rise will want to pass on the signature of a potential world beater if they’re getting him for close to nothing.
Gers surely do need to bolster their youth ranks, but we think that this is the right thing to do.
A lot of times, clubs tend to take the word of their agents and scouts and end up signing players that are bad fits.

The SPFL champions gave him the perfect opportunity to prove his mettle and were clearly unimpressed by what they saw.
Now is the time to move on and they could always rekindle their interest at a later stage in the future if Bakre progresses and becomes a special footballer.
As of now, he’s probably playing at the level that suits him and he’s still got miles to go before he can play for a massive club like Rangers.
In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
