Steven Thompson stunned by Rangers star Ryan Kent v Dortmund, Borna Barisic ruined it

Steven Thompson was left stunned by Rangers star Ryan Kent during the huge 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening.

The BBC pundit was left drooling in the first-especially, with the winger going on to provide assists on the road once again.

It could have been more, with Thompson left questioning Borna Barisic who ruined a perfect chance in the opening stages.

Speaking during the BBC coverage of the game, Thompson singled out Kent before Barisic ruined it with his finish.

“He’s got to score,” he said.

“It’s fantastic play from Kent down the left-hand side. You can just tell Barisic isn’t comfortable in that position.”

Kent in this mood is simply unstoppable, and he always seems to flick that switch on these huge European nights.

It could have been even better for the winger if Barisic had smashed the ball home, something he really should have done.

The Croatian put in one of his best performances of the season last night, and if he had just taken a deep breath, it could have been even better.

Instead, Barisic took too many touches and his shot was saved in the end, although the combination getting back to its best could be critical.

It was a magical night, and Kent was at the heart of most things bombing forward as Dortmund simply couldn’t hold him back.

Barisic may have ruined the perfect opportunity, but thankfully it didn’t mean much as we went on to smash our way past one of Germany’s best.
