Chris Sutton empties both barrels as Ally McCoist celebrates Rangers win v Dortmund on BT Sports

Chris Sutton has emptied both barrels on celebrating Rangers fans after the huge 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund on Thursday evening.

Ally McCoist dangled the carrot, asking for Sutton to congratulate the Bears for their efforts in Germany, and he decided to bite.

The former Celtic man couldn’t believe the celebrations given that it was only the first leg, with the second to come at Ibrox next week.

Darrell Currie has shared a preview of BT Sports’ Scottish Football Extra on his personal Twitter account, with McCoist kicking things off.

“One of the best European performances from any Scotland team in the last 25 years,” he said. “That’s how it gets better.

“And I’m sure, the magnanimous Chris Sutton is going to agree with me in saying it was one of the better performances from a Scottish team in Europe.”

Sutton wasn’t playing ball, though, and decided to take aim at all of the Rangers celebrations throughout the past 24 hours.

“Dortmund could blow Rangers away in the second leg,” he said. “The fact of the matter is, you’re celebrating at half time, who celebrates half time? Who does that? I don’t know but well done to Rangers.”

Here we go.

This is exactly the content we were hoping for after that miraculous win at the Signal Iduna Park last night.

Sutton couldn’t be more bitter if he tried, especially after Celtic were blown away by a Norweigan side who are currently in the middle of their pre-season.

In what will have been a friendly for them, they waltzed into Celtic Park and left with a huge 3-1 win, something the Hoops now have to travel to near the Arctic Circle to recover.

Instead, we are welcoming back one of Europe’s biggest in Dortmund to Ibrox on what promises to be one of the best nights of football in Scotland for years.

We have this win under our belts, maybe Sutton will finally stand up and applaud if we dump out one of the favourites for the entire tournament, that we can’t wait to see.
