Ally McCoist torments Alan Brazil on talkSPORT over Rangers and Celtic European results
Ally McCoist got his own back for the Old Firm derby this morning as he ruthlessly teased Alan Brazil for the Rangers and Celtic results last night.
The Light Blues shocked Borussia Dortmund 4-2 in the away leg of their Europa League tie, while the Hoops were beaten 3-1 at home in the Europa Conference League by Bodo/Glimt.
Through fits of laughter the former Gers striker called into talkSPORT Breakfast this morning (Friday 18 February, 07.50am) to torment Celtic supporting Brazil who said: “Look at the gloater. Alright, alright it’s one wee game. There was a bit of sickness in the German camp.”

McCoist responded: “There was after the game, I know that by the way. What a performance that was. I know they were missing the big fella up front [Erling Haaland], and the tie’s not over, but I’ll tell you what, what a performance and a result that is.
“Every time the ball hit the back of that Dortmund net, I could just think about Brazil this morning.
“As poor as they were against Celtic weeks ago… they went to the complete other end of the spectrum”.
Brazil tried to fight back by getting out an Inter vs Celtic 1967 European Cup winning pendant but McCoist was undeterred in the circumstances: “That’s good mate, you can stick that up next to the one I’ve bought you – Celtic vs Bodo/Glimt.
“If they do get knocked out of the tie, does that mean they go straight into the Eurovision Song Contest?”
Brazil argued that “At least [Bodo/Glimt] are the champions of their country, Borussia Dortmund aren’t” to which the Light Blues hero gleefully responded “Aye, but so are we.”
Tables have turned
Rangers’ record goalscorer, like all the club’s fans, was on the receiving end of plenty of cross-Glasgow mockery after the 3-0 defeat at Parkhead at the beginning of the month.
So he was not going to miss his opportunity to pay it back now that fortunes have reversed for the two sides in Europe.
After all, much of the enjoyment of being a football fan, particularly on one side of a heated rivalry, is to laud it over the other side when things are going your way.

It never lasts forever so supporters will take the chance while they can get it.
The contrasting natures of the two results last night belied the state of the Old Firm derby itself, as Gers blew away their German opponents in a similar way to how they went down at Celtic Park.
If the league defeat asked the first major question of manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, last night’s game provided an emphatic answer.
But with the job only half done, they will have to back it up in the return leg at Ibrox or it will ultimately be for nothing, and the teasing will start coming back the other way again.
In other Rangers news, the Bundesliga side’s chiefs were reportedly shocked into holding a “crisis meeting” with the manager last night.
