Rangers confirmed starting XI v Borussia Dortmund

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for tonight’s Europa League knockout clash with Borussia Dortmund.

The Gers travel to the Signal Iduna Park where they face the German giants for the first time since the pairs 99/00 last 32 UEFA Cup clash in which Dortmund progressed on penalties.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has dropped Aaron Ramsey with Ryan Jack fit enough to return.

Huge tie

These are the games that everyone at the club looks out for throughout the season with much anticipation; it is a huge game for everybody involved with the club.

As hard as it will be against a top side like Borrussia Dortmund with the talent they possess, the Bears still stand a very good chance.

Anything can happen in cup competitions across two legs so the players must go into the game with the belief they can pull off something special.

If they are feeling uninspired, they can just look at the club’s rich European history to remind themselves of the size of the club they are at.

A positive result tonight is essential. The team must avoid being blown away and bring something back to Ibrox where anything can happen.

Both stadiums are electric on nights like these so tonight could prove very difficult but there is now place quite like the Ibrox and if there is something to fight for in the second leg, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine the atmosphere almost carrying the Gers players to the finish line.

In other Bears news, Stewart Robertson says Rangers aren’t conceding Connor Goldson contract.
