Van Bronckhorst shares contract update on Rangers duo Aribo and Kent

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has suggested that Rangers are planning to contract extension offers to Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent.

The Dutchman has suggested that although he hasn’t spoken to them about extending their contracts, this is something the club is looking at.

Both the players have contracts at Ibrox until the end of next season.

Van Bronckhorst said, as quoted by Daily Record: “I haven’t spoken to them about extending their contracts or new talks. That’s something the club will do in the near future.

“We must make sure we have the future well planned. Of course these are players who are very important for our team, so the talks will begin.

“The players with these qualities you want to have as long as possible at your club.”

Exciting

The contract situations of some of the players should be a massive concern for Van Bronckhorst.

Both these players will enter the final year of their deal in the summer, and if the club do not take action swiftly, the Gers could end up in a similar situation as they are with Connor Goldson.

The likes of Goldson, Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Scott Arfield, and Leon Balogun could all become free agents in the summer, and Rangers could end up facing a huge task of rebuilding.

Both Kent and Aribo have been outstanding this season for the Gers. Aribo in particular has taken his game to a whole new level under Van Bronckhorst.

He has been given the freedom to exert his influence behind the striker and he has repaid the faith. Kent, likewise, has been imperious as ever.

The club must also consider the futures of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Jack and Filip Helander with all of them facing a similar contract situation.

However, the fact that the club are planning to offer deals for Aribo and Kent will come as an exciting piece of news for the fans.

In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
