Rangers ace Glen Kamara becomes sponsored Red Bull athlete

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has announced on his Twitter account that he has been signed as the newest Red Bull sponsored athlete.

The Finnish international, who has been a major player in the Light Blues’ team this season as they chase success both domestically and in Europe, says he is “super excited” with the news.

He tweeted two pictures of himself dripping in Red Bull gear and holding the famous blue and metallic can of drink that has plastered itself all over sport in the past 15 years.

The 26-year-old issued a short and sweet message when announcing the news, saying: “Super excited to start working with Red Bull.

Kamara becomes the second Red Bull sponsored footballer in the UK after Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Other stars in Europe to be backed by the billion-dollar Austrian drinks manufacturer include Neymar, Memphis Depay and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Stay focused

It would be easy for Kamara to lose focus from now on with Red Bull likely to ask him to do a lot more in the way of commercial activities but he needs to keep his feet on the ground.

Rangers

He has by no means made it because the energy drink giants have thrown their support behind him and Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to remind him he still has a job to do.

The announcement comes at a strange time with the Gers facing a tough task away at Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League tomorrow evening.

His teammates could question the timing too but if he goes out and bosses the game at Signal Iduna Park, no Rangers fan will be too bothered about that.

This could be the moment that makes his football career a huge success but it could also start the end if he doesn’t keep his standards high for the rest of this season.

In other Rangers news, a key player for Dortmund has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game through injury.
