Jim White reacts as away fans set to return to huge Rangers v Celtic games

Jim White has instantly reacted to Stewart Robertson confirming away fans will return to Old Firm games between Rangers and Celtic.

The talkSPORT host insisted that both are heading in the right direction after away fans were kept away for the past few meetings.

White, along with Simon Jordan admitted his shock that the ban was ever brought into place between the two clubs.

Speaking live on talkSPORT’s White and Jordan this morning (15 February, 10:05 am) the host delved into the matter.

“The Old Firm are heading in the right direction,” he said.

“A report running in Scotland this morning, the Old Firm have seen sense at last, of course, for those who don’t know, the Old Firm – Celtic and Rangers, apparently the Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson reportedly admitted that away fans will be back for the remaining two fixtures between the two clubs.

“Now, this is something we’ve been pushing, we couldn’t believe that no Celtic fans were at Ibrox the last time we were up there and that no Rangers fans were across the city last time out.”

Common sense.

This was a decision that simply had to be made.

The Old Firm games were strange without the away fans at Ibrox and Parkhead, with the atmosphere still big, but not contested.

Interestingly, in both games, the home side took home the three points, and it may have helped that there were no away fans.

Given the magnitude of the last Old Firm, having Rangers fans inside Parkhead would have been incredible, and our side suffered because of their absence.

Robertson shared the brilliant news this morning (15 February), so hopefully, all of the work is already in place for that to happen.

All eyes will now move to the start of April now, with Celtic set to come to Ibrox in what promises to be a huge afternoon.
