Fabrizio Romano: Rangers loanee Amad Diallo future is at Manchester United

Amad Diallo’s future is at Manchester United despite him moving to Rangers on loan in the January transfer window.

The Premier League outfit paid a lot of money to secure the attacker’s services and are unwilling to lose him after acquiring him last summer.

While Ibrox is a good place for him to hone his skills, Romano does not see it becoming a permanent deal in the future.

Rangers

Speaking to Football Scotland, he said, “I think Amad Diallo’s future is in Manchester, to be honest, they paid a lot of money for him. It was 23million euros plus big, huge bonuses to arrive at potentially around 35-40million euros for Atalanta.

“Rangnick wanted to send him on loan for an opportunity to play and I think Rangers just have to try and enjoy the boy, to help the player.

“The player is so happy in Glasgow and they’re super happy with him so it’s a perfect match. Let’s see in the future, I’m sure they’ll do their best for Amad, he’ll do his best for Rangers.”

Temporary enjoyment?

Diallo is the sort of player who could thrive at Rangers and possibly become one of the best in the SPFL.

However, United do know his upside and are unlikely to do a deal unless it involves huge money.

Rangers

Rangers cannot afford the riches that the Premier League clubs can so they must forget about signing him permanently.

Alternatively, if this spell goes well, then they could look to bring him on loan again for the entirety of next season.

If the player is happy and the new United manager believes that he’ll progress well at the Ibrox, Giovanni van Bronckhorst would surely love having him on for another season.

In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
