Aaron Ramsey posts message on Twitter after Rangers win v Annan

Aaron Ramsey shared his joy after making his first start on Saturday [12 February] as Rangers won 3-0 against Annan Athletic.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst made as many as 11 changes from the side that won in the midweek against Hibernian.

The Wales midfielder, who joined in the January window on loan from Juventus, played till the 60th minute and looks quite rusty.

He provided an assist for Filip Helander in the seventh minute; the defender was making his first start since September.

Ramsey praised the fans for their support and wrote on Twitter: “Under the lights at Galabank, Annan. So good to be back out there from the off, brilliant support once again. Into the quarters of Scottish Cup.”

Comfortable win

It was a comfortable win for the Gers as they kept the winning momentum going.

The first half was played in a testing condition. The wind was blowing heavily along with the rain, but the condition improved after the break.

Ramsey was impressed with the quality of the side and added that he is “excited” (12 February) to be a part of this group.

Kemar Roofe will be one of plenty to depart Ibrox this summer

Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala scored the other two goals for the Bears.

It was also good to see Helander starting his first game after a long time. His return to action will serve as a huge boost for the Dutchman.

Van Bronkhorst also used Steven Davies who made a return to the starting line-up since December.

It’s important for Ramsey to get some minutes and get into proper shape as he can play a huge role for the Gers this season.

In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
