Keith Hackett: Officials spot on not to give Rangers second penalty v Hibernian
We’re delighted to welcome former Premier League referee Keith Hackett as our exclusive Rangers columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Keith Hackett has insisted that the officials were spot on not to hand Rangers a second penalty in the 2-0 victory over Hibernian.
The ex-FIFA referee was reacting to SPFL YouTube footage of Ryan Kent appearing to be pushed in the back.
Hackett admitted there was contact, but it was nowhere near enough for the penalty to be awarded to the Bears.

“He’s gone down,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“I think the referee is in a good position, he may have had a player blocking him a little bit, but no. Football is a contact sport so I think it’s a good piece of refereeing.”

Lightning.
In this mood, we are going to be looking at a number of these incidents involving Kent every single week.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is bringing the best out of players such as the winger and Alfredo Morelos, and they are now reaping havoc on anyone in their path.
Kent is staying as wide as possible, receiving the ball and then singling out his opposing number and skinning them for fun.
That led to one penalty against Hibs, but we have to admit this second one looked slightly soft in the end.
