Ally McCoist shares Alan Brazil contradiction after Rangers loss to Celtic
Ally McCoist has shared the contradictory text messages he received from talkSPORT colleague Alan Brazil after Celtic defeated Rangers.
The Old Firm derby was a miserable affair for Gers as a one-sided game ended in a 3-0 defeat and saw them lose top spot in the table to their Glasgow rivals.
Ibrox hero McCoist has been fairly outnumbered in terms of the Old Firm divide on the radio station, having already discussed receiving trolling messages after the loss from fellow pundit Trevor Sinclair, as well as guest Shay Given.

And now he has revealed what he received from his main partner on the breakfast show, the former Celtic youth player Brazil.
Speaking on talkSPORT, quoted in the Glasgow Times he said: “I’m doing the commentary for the Old Firm game last Wednesday night at Celtic Park and my phone goes.
“It’s obviously big Brazil. ‘I can’t believe it,’ he says. ‘The referee, Bobby Madden, he never gives us anything.’
“He reels off all these statistics about free-kicks, yellow cards and goals.
“The final whistle blows and the text comes through: ‘What a game that Bobby Madden had!’
“Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.”
Easy to laugh
Nobody on the green and white side of Glasgow would have cared following the comprehensive victory but the only controversy around the refereeing saw Rangers come off worse.
That fit in with virtually everything on the night as the Light Blues were overrun from the off.
The opening goal from Reo Hatate was protested by the visitors however, as there appeared to be a head injury after Calvin Bassey collided with Joe Aribo at the preceding corner.

Strictly speaking the referee should have stopped play before the Japanese attacker’s shot came in to beat Allan McGregor, but he didn’t.
It is unlikely that it would have changed the result considering how off the pace the Ibrox men were on the night, but Brazil’s messages show how hotly contested the rivalry is and how carefully the referees have to tread.
As usual, Gers favourite McCoist took the teasing in good spirits, but had it have been a tight 1-0 affair decided by that early strike, attitudes could have been a lot different.
