Connor Goldson will quit Rangers in summer, set to join English club – Chris Jack
Connor Goldson will quit Rangers in the summer and is set to join an English club on a free transfer, according to Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack.
Writing on the Evening Times’ website on Thursday [10 February], Jack reports that on paper, 29-year-old Goldson is “one of the most valuable assets” the Light Blues have.
However, it is understood that he will leave Ibrox at the end of the current season when his contract expires and the ex-Brighton defender will return to England.

Goodbye, Goldson
Goldson was a star of the show for Rangers last season as we won the Scottish Premiership without suffering a single defeat and conceding just 13 goals.
It’s hard to believe that the Goldson this season is the same player.
Out of all of the players at Ibrox, it would be fair to say that Goldson may have gone backwards the most and there’s a good chance his contract situation in Govan has played a part in that.
Goldson doesn’t seem to be interested in extending his stay at Rangers, even though there’s a chance that if he stays, he’ll be able to play in the Champions League next term.

If he’s hanging around until the season ends to know whether he’ll be playing in the Champions League group stages, then that’s not the kind of player we want at our club.
We want players who are 100 per cent committed whether we’re playing Celtic, Borussia Dortmund or Cove Rangers.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson could have a major rebuild on their hands in the summer and the defence is definitely an area that needs to be sorted out with Goldson and potentially Leon Balogun leaving.
In other Rangers news, van Bronckhorst annoyed by £5million-rated Hers player’s antics in win over Hibernian.
