Glen Kamara comes into winning line up – Rangers confirmed starting XI v Hibernian

Glen Kamara replaces the injured Ryan Jack in the Rangers side to face Hibs at Ibrox tonight, as Giovanni van Bronckhorst sticks with a winning formula.

Following a damaging few weeks the manager had made a number of changes ahead of Sunday’s clash with Hearts.

But with the Light Blues returning to winning ways in emphatic fashion he has stuck to the side that delivered the 5-0 victory as much as he can while January signing Mateusz Zukowski is in the matchday squad for the first time on the bench.

Jack had only just returned to the starting line up after extensive injury problems, and has already picked up another knock, but Fin Kamara responded excellently to being dropped with his second-half cameo and comes back in instead.

A rare goal from a nice Alfredo Morelos assist topped of a late show that overshadowed Aaron Ramsey’s debut, the Welshman is again on the bench tonight.

The side in full therefore is: Allan McGregor in goal, behind a back line of captain, James Tavenier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey.

Kamara lines up beside John Lundstram in midfield, behind an attacking three of Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Scott Arfield, with main man Morelos up top.

Build on big win

The turbulent start to 2022 looked like it may have been put to bed with the emphatic 5-0 victory over third-placed Hearts at the weekend.

Two draws and a major defeat to Celtic has seen Gers slip to second in the table, but the team responded to the loss in style at Ibrox.

Returning striker Morelos made a huge difference, scoring twice and assisting another, after a frustrating trip to the Colombia squad.

Hibs haven’t won in the league yet this side of the new year so van Bronckhorst will be looking to consolidate the previous victory here.

With league-leaders facing a tricky trip to Aberdeen at the same time, it will be important to take advantage of any slip-ups they might produce.

If the Light Blues can do that then they would be able to return to the summit of the SPFL at the earliest opportunity which would be a massive psychological boost.

In other Rangers news, new signing has his official reveal on a two-year contract.
