Ally McCoist shares immediate teasing he received from Shay Given after Rangers loss to Celtic
Ally McCoist has revealed that he received mockery from Shay Given and Robbie Keane immediately after Rangers lost to Celtic last week.
The Gers hero also singled out Trevor Sinclair as another source of trolling instantly following the final whistle of the 3-0 Old Firm defeat at Parkhead.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side went into the game top of the Scottish Premiership but surrendered that position in spectacular fashion, as Ange Postecoglou’s men blew them away in the derby.

Speaking on talkSPORT this morning (Wednesday, February 9), the ex-Light Blues striker was reunited with former Celtic youth player Given and said, via Football Scotland: “The pea hadn’t stopped rolling about in the referee’s whistle, and Shay and Robbie Keane had been on the phone to me, there’s no need for that!
“I don’t bask in my own team’s success anything like that. I knew I would get a bit from the lads, but not that quickly, that was a world record.
“But I said before, your team were excellent, particularly in the first-half.
“Another one worth a mention is that wee Sinclair.
“He was bumping his gums as well, he was another one that gave me a message!”
To be expected
As the Ibrox pundit says, Celtic were well worth the win and there were no complaints as to who were the better side, despite some controversy surrounding the opening goal.
McCoist took the teasing in good spirits as he will have been bracing himself for it from the second it became clear that such a result looked to be on the cards.
In a derby such as the Old Firm it is part of the tension that bragging rights are on the line, and when one side so comprehensively outplays the other that bragging is going to multiplied.

For a figure who is Rangers through and through, he is always going be a lightning rod for that sort of treatment.
He will have enjoyed the weekend far more though, as a reaction came in the form of the 5-0 domination of Hearts.
The visit of Hibs follows tonight and the hope for everyone around Ibrox will be for the club to put together a winning run as they seek to return to the top of the table.
In other Rangers news, this transfer target has moved to tonight’s opponents.
