Aaron Ramsey not set for Rangers full debut v Hibs

Aaron Ramsey will have to wait for his Rangers full debut as he’s unlikely to be named in the starting eleven against Hibernian later today (Wednesday).

According to Scottish Daily Mail journalist Brian Marjoribanks, the January loan signing from Juventus will only be named as a substitute for the match.

He came off the bench to play 14 minutes against Hearts over the weekend and will likely be doing the same in the second half of the Hibs clash.

Easing him in

One can understand why Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been easing Ramsey into the playing eleven.

The Wales international was on the fringes at Juventus and has not had enough game time there.

Making him play 90 minutes every week would not be the best thing for him in terms of his physical condition.

The 31-year-old is already past his prime and has endured plenty of problems with injuries in his career.

He’s unlikely to have gotten better being on the wrong side of 30, so the Dutchman is making a lot of sense by using him sparingly.

Hopefully, in a few weeks, Ramsey is up to speed and can start one a game per week, at the very least.

He is a player that Gers certainly need as he does not just offer that X-Factor in midfield, but he’s someone who can have a huge impact in the final third by finding the back of the net as well.

In other Rangers news, the club could have signed a ‘Combative’ centre mid whose father was an Ibrox icon.
