View: Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara must step up in absence of Ryan Jack

Rangers will be without Ryan Jack for the Scottish Premiership clash against Hibernian on Wednesday evening.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Jack will be out for this game with an ankle injury. However, the injury doesn’t look serious.

He will still be out for this game, and Van Bronckhorst will have to bring Steven Davis or Glen Kamara in place.

January signing Aaron Ramsey is still not fully fit, but Van Bronckhorst is hopeful that it won’t be long before he starts making contributions again.

Kamara was dropped against Hearts after a poor performance against Celtic.

The Finland international was part of the triple substitution at the break at Celtic Park, but he did really well in the previous game.

The midfielder scored a goal and former Scotland forward James McFadden hailed him on Sky Sports as “fantastic” (06 February) for his performance.

It was a brilliant finish, and it will boost his confidence. It was a strong response from the midfielder after being dropped.

With Jack out against Hibs, it’s likely that he could be drafted into the first-team.

Kamara has been the epitome of consistency for the past 18 months. He was one of the key players under Steven Gerrard, and was playing really well under the Dutchman before the winter break.

Davis is also another option for GvB, but in all probability, Kamara will be used, and it’s time for him to make the best use of it.
