Rangers could have fixture rescheduled to Ibrox after league split
The quirks of the Scottish Premiership mid-season split means Rangers were due to play four or maybe even five games away from home in a row.
The Gers will have played most of the top six at home when the split happens after the third rotation of games but they are required to play at least two of the final five matches on home turf.
That means they will need to have a game that was due to be away from home moved to Ibrox to fulfil the league’s rules and that could be ideal for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

In their fight for the league title with Celtic, that could be vital as the Champions League place for the victors is worth nearly £40million in prize money as the Daily Record claim.
The Old Firm game is one that won’t be moved owing to the magnitude of the rivalry and in the interest of fairness in the title fight, meaning the Gers still have to head to Parkhead once more this season.
Much of this palaver is irrelevant in reality because van Bronkhorst and his team will know that they simply need to keep winning and they’ll be home and dry.
Victory against Celtic at Ibrox on 3 April will see the Light Blues back atop the Scottish Premiership if they match the Hoops’ results to that point.

Do so again at Parkhead after the split and you’ve got one hand on the trophy again.
Celtic themselves may lose a home game in the same way Rangers lose an away contest as they’re in the opposite scenario to the Gers.
It’s all theoretical really though as it will be on-pitch performances that win this league title, not home advantage.
Rangers have enough in them to beat anyone on their day and that should be enough to see them over the line ahead of their Glasgow rivals.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has backed this veteran to keep playing at Ibrox beyond this season.
