Aaron Ramsey is fitting in at Rangers ‘as if he has been here for a year’
Aaron Ramsey is already fitting in at Rangers following his deadline day arrival from Juventus as if he has been there for much longer, says Dominic King.
The Welsh midfielder has been hailed as the biggest Rangers signing since Paul Gascoigne in 1995, but following his debut off the bench in the thrashing of Hearts yesterday it appears he has assimilated quickly.
Ramsey was in the stands for the miserable defeat at Celtic after the transfer window shut, and is lacking match fitness following extensive injury issues in Serie A.

But he saw his first action at Ibrox on Sunday in the 5-0 win and said afterwards, via the Daily Mail: “I was itching to get on and I kept looking over because the warm up had gone on for a bit.
“Eventually we got the nod to get on. I keep saying it but I was so happy to get on. I can really kick on from here and progress over the next few weeks.”
Writing in the Mail King reports that: “The words were sincere. Watching Ramsey, it was clear to see the genuine excitement he felt and he punched the air when Alfredo Morelos plundered the second goal as if he’d scored it himself.
“Those who work with him say that he has fitted into the dressing room as if he has been here a year.”
Positive signs
Ramsey’s first experience as a Ger was just about as bad as it could get with the defeat at Parkhead.
The 3-0 loss saw the Light Blues lose top spot in the SPFL and it instantly deflated the positive feeling created by his arrival at the end of the transfer window.
Considering how some outside Scotland view the game in these leagues there might be a temptation to assume that a Premier League and Serie A headliner might feel superior.

But it is heartening for Ibrox fans to see that the 31-year-old appears to be fully invested in the season already.
Certainly he will hope more of his experiences going forward match Sunday’s as Giovanni van Bronckhorst saw his side eventually secure a statement result.
They may have lost the league lead, but they have found their feet again already, with the return of Alfredo Morelos particularly key.
Midfield was not a priority but perhaps Ramsey can have an influence in the dressing room with his immediate engagement.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has downplayed the importance of the signing.
