James McFadden drools over Alfredo Morelos goal for Rangers in win v Hearts
James McFadden couldn’t hide his delight at Alfredo Morelos’ form as the Colombian scored twice on his return to Rangers action against Hearts.
The Colombian had missed recent games due to an international call-up, but started the game at Ibrox and scored twice in a 5-0 win over third-placed Hearts to get Rangers back on track.
Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker described the strike as ‘brilliant’, before former Rangers forward McFadden exclaimed that ‘El Buffalo’ will punish any team who give him opportunities in and around the penalty area.
“It’s been a quiet second half from Morelos, but you can’t give him time and space in and around the box,” said McFadden. “He gets a bit of fortune when it comes back to him, but he makes no mistake.
“You can’t give him time and space. The form he showed in the first half, the form he’s shown under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, you cannot allow him time and space in and around the box or he will punish you. He certainly did then.”
Lethal
The Colombian’s brace made it nine goals in his last eight appearances against Hearts, but extended his run as the top scorer under van Bronckhorst for Rangers too.
It moved him up to ten goals in 20 games in the league this season and 15 in all competitions.

His scoring record since moving to Rangers has seen him become a fan favourite and linked with moves to European clubs for a while, yet he continues to impress and perform for the Blues.
His form and goals will be key if Rangers are to retain their title and the skillset he provides up front is very different from anything the other striker options can offer the team.
A very reliable finisher against all opposition, Morelos is the man that will lead this title charge once more.
