James McFadden amazed by Ryan Kent’s Rangers miss in Hearts clash
Ryan Kent had James McFadden in disbelief when he somehow curled wide for Rangers when he looked certain to score in the first-half against Hearts.
Leading 1-0 in the crucial SPFL clash, the winger had a golden opportunity to make it two following good play by Alfredo Morelos, but wasted the chance.
Speaking on the Sky Sports live match broadcast former Scotland international forward McFadden said: “There should be a goal. It’s magnificent again, Ryan Kent and Morelos linking up.

“Look at Morelos playing on the shoulder again but then he’s got the presence of mind [to find Kent].
“Ryan Kent follows his run, chops inside, it has to be a goal. He has to score. He’s got a big part of the goal to aim for.
“Craig Gordon does spread himself but you’re expecting that to hit the back of the net, a huge change for Rangers.”
Guilt-edged
Gers went in at the break only a goal up when it should have been two or three.
The English winger provided the assist for his Colombian teammates’ eighth goal in eight games against Hearts but really should have added two more himself.
First he curled narrowly past the far post from inside the area, before he managed to find the exact same spot from the edge of the six-yard-box in the 24th minute after cutting inside.

McFadden was as amazed as most Light Blues fans when the ball did not end up in the net.
In a game where Giovanni van Bronckhorst would have wanted his side to make a statement to show they had got over the shock of the damaging defeat to Celtic, Gers should not have been leaving the door open for a come-back from the Edinburgh side.
The play was an improvement from Wednesday night, although it would have been difficult not to improve from that performance, chances were wasted.
Kent has not had a great 2022 so far, getting sent off after tangling with Scott Brown against Aberdeen, before returning in the 3-0 Old Firm thrashing.
In other Rangers news, Kanny Dalglish could not understand the signing of Aaron Ramsey.
