Giovanni van Bronckhorst makes four changes – Rangers XI confirmed vs Hearts

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made four big changes after naming his Rangers starting lineup for their Scottish Premiership clash against Hearts.

The Light Blues were well beaten in midweek by Rangers to fall off the top of the table and the manager hinted that changes would be made after the poor performance.

He’s followed through with that, making four changes to the team while debut for deadline-day signing Aaron Ramsey in midfield is possible as he is named on the bench.

Allan McGregor keeps his place in goal despite poor form in recent games, while Ryan Jack makes his first start of the season. Alfredo Morelos returns to the attack after missing recent games due to international duty.

Glen Kamara, defender Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe are axed to the bench for Rangers, while Amad Diallo is replaced in the team by John Lundstram too.

Confirmed Rangers XI vs Hearts; McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Bassey; Jack, Aribo, Lundstram; Arfield, Morelos, Kent.

Impression

This is a chance for Rangers to show some real character and make an impression on their fans for what to expect for the rest of the season.

The battering by Celtic in midweek should have hurt their pride and they should be looking to return to the team’s previous fortunes with a good performance.

The likes of Jack will be looking to immediately show what they can bring to this team, while van Bronckhorst will be keen to see a reaction from the midweek showing.

A return to Ibrox is always something that will work in their favour too, with fans being behind them from the off and pushing them to a positive result.

With reclaiming top spot, the hunt is on for Rangers and the start of the rest of their season is here and now.
