Clinton Morrison: Newcastle should have done everything to beat Rangers to Aaron Ramsey signing in January

Clinton Morrison has gone bezerk insisting that Newcastle should have beaten Rangers to the January signing of Aaron Ramsey.

The BBC pundit insisted he was “screaming” at the mega-rich Premier League side to go and get the goalscoring midfielder.

Rangers won the race in the end, signing the Welsh international on a straight loan deal – something that gives them priority for a permanent transfer in the summer [Fabrizio Romano].

Speaking on Friday Football Social [04 February] on BBC Radio 5 Live, Morrison went crazy as the Bears eventually won the race.

“The one I was screaming at them [Newcastle] to go and get was Aaron Ramsey,” he said.

“They need a goalscoring midfielder, I don’t know for the life of me how they’ve not gone and got Aaron Ramsey.”

Rangers

Their loss.

We still can’t quite get our heads around this one.

The likes of Newcastle, the richest club in the world, were linked with Ramsey, yet to still decided to come to the mighty Bears.

It is just as well too, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst desperately needing Ramsey given our predicament of losing top spot in the Scottish Premiership.

We are crying out for the former Arsenal man to come in and be our saviour, or at least spark a positive return to form.

Ramsey is a big-money player, and this signals a change in Scottish football again where these huge names can come north of the border as they have done previously.

Forget Newcastle and their money, this is all about the Gers.
