Rangers given priority for Aaron Ramsey in summer – Fabrizio Romano

Rangers will be given priority to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey permanently in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Welsh international, 31, is currently on loan at the Gers on a deal that keeps him at Ibrox until June.

There was no buy option included in the deal, but Romano has shared on his personal Twitter account that the Bears will have the priority in discussions to buy Ramsey outright in the summer.

Rangers

“Aaron Ramsey deal. Rangers have officially no buy option clause included with Juventus, it’s a straight loan until June – but the Scottish club will have priority to negotiate Ramsey’s permanent signing if both sides wish.”

Financially viable?

This would be a great signing for the Gers.

It will be very interesting to see how his loan spell goes at Ibrox with the former Arsenal man not having consistent game time for some time now whilst at the Old Lady.

One thing is for sure, he is a player with huge quality and an even more experience so he should be able to live up to the excitement felt from the Light Blues when his signing was announced.

The deal could prove difficult for the Gers though, that’s before leaping the hurdle of Ramsey, Juventus and Rangers all coming to agreement.

It might not be financially viable with the Italian club currently paying most of Ramsey’s wages – something they obviously wouldn’t do for a permanent move.

His wages might be too steep for the Gers and not only that, it could upset members of the squad if a new signing comes in on extremely high wages.

If a deal could be made it would be huge.
