Ally McCoist hits back as Chris Sutton gets carried away in Rangers v Celtic verdict
Chris Sutton once again got carried away with his verdict on Celtic’s win over Rangers on Wednesday evening.
Ally McCoist was quick to shut him down, though, insisting the celebrations were far too over the top at Parkhead after the Old Firm.
Celtic leapfrogged Rangers to top spot in the Scottish Premiership, but there are still many more games to go before the end of the season.

Darrell Currie shared a preview of BT Sports Scottish Football Extra on his personal Twitter account, with Sutton kicking things off.
“His team got pumped,” he said. “Absolutely blown away by Celtic, Celtic back on top. You only have to look at the possession stats in the first half – Celtic top of those, and the Celtic ballboys second.
“Where were the Rangers?”
McCoist responded emphatically and didn’t let things get too much for him and get carried away like others.
“It was three points, lads,” he said.
“I didn’t know you also won the Calcutta Cup, the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup – I mean there’s over the top celebrations, and how about that?
“Big Ange, I got a complaint from a Celtic supporting mate, because he never shook hands with him, he was shaking hands with the crowd.
“Calm down.”

Here we go.
This was to be expected after the embarrassing events of Wednesday, but McCoist handled it perfectly and just swiped it away.
It reminds us that so many games are yet to be played, and anything can happen between now and the end of the season.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been given a big reminder in the past week after everything had been going so swiftly.
The draw at Ross County, followed by this defeat means that a huge response is needed against Hearts on Saturday.
McCoist knows that Celtic celebrations were over the top, but he will also know that another slip-up this weekend would be critical to our chances of retaining the title.
