Six Rangers name left out of new registered squad list for Europa League – report

Rangers have left six first-team names out of their new registered squad for the rest of the Europa League this season.

That’s been shared by the Herald, who reports that big names such as Filip Helander and Ianis Hagi have been kicked out.

They join Nathan Patterson and Juninho Bacuna after their exits, alongside Cedric Itten and Jack Simpson, who have not done enough.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst looks to have made the hard decision based on what he has seen so far at Ibrox.

With Borussia Dortmund coming up later this month, the Europa League came calling for their new squad after the end of the January transfer window.

New signings Amad Diallo, James Sand and Aaron Ramsey have all earned their spots in the squad, though and will likely be used.

Huge.

There are some decisions that will be deemed very questionable here.

Helander’s omission is the clear one, with the Swede international clearly not deemed fit enough to play a big role.

Names such as Itten and Simpson are not surprising, and Hagi is another who can’t help it given that he has been ruled out for the season.

Ramsey, Diallo and Sands have much bigger chances of making a difference and will be huge if we have any chance of getting past Dortmund.

The signs aren’t good right now, though, with Van Bronckhorst surely scratching his head over our form, it’s just not good enough.

Hopefully, that can change soon and the form can pick up over these next two weeks before that first leg against Dortmund.
